    hi skills,

    Please can you say me if the CSC trick (*#272*IMEI#) works on CM7? Or it only works on samsung stock dialer? (CM7 use android stock dialer, right?)

      Only if CSC is installed .
      You can use the files in usr folder to replace for the AZERTY layout

        ok thank, i’ll try this later. I’ve already changed the keylayout/keycharts files but some alt-key are still inversed (for example: the alt-1 key make me a “!” sign.)

      Not really . I dont think Nokia has released the camera drivers for N95 . Even so it has 2 % chance of working .

    Hi! Thanks, this ROM looks awesome! I’ve got an issue with Link2SD, it still asks me to reboot after the first boot. I tried also to recreate mount script, but it didn’t help. What am I doing wrong?

      Ypou wont encounter such problem in Arkas 1.6 or Arkas 1.5 .Both are init enabled .
      Init scripts are disabled by default in GB .

      I just installed Link2Sd 1.9.9 to verify
      And mmcblk0p2 is mounted on /data/sd-ext on boot !! .

        Yes I’m sure, something is wrong with my installation. Now it’s refusing to create the script: “Mount script cannot be created. :cannot create /system/etc/init.d/11link2sd: error 14”

        Thank you. I think something is wrong in my installation, though. In fact, if i cd to /system/etc/init.d and try to create 11link2sd with touch, I get this:

        # touch 11link2sd

        If I touch another file, or try to write to a new file, it doesn’t give any error but it does nothing anyway…

        Bug is confirmed .

    remarkable work! well done.
    i’ve got an i5510 with italian qwerty keyboard, currently running 2.2 I5510XWJK3 (i know its very old… but its a carrier custom firmware who never bothered to release any official update with kies)

    if i undestand correctly the process for flashing this rom is the following:
    – boot phone into download mode
    – from ODIN select flash as one package, select the “Arkas1684.tar.md5” and then press start.
    – once finished reboot again into download mode and flash CSC to make the keyboard work with the correct layout. (or just swap the files into the /system/usr/keylayout with the 2.2 ones)
    – once finished, reboot in recovery mode to wipe all data + cache.
    – Done.

    I have just one question: can i flash this rom directly over my current firmware or i have to first flash a STOCK 2.3.4 rom?

      1.)You need stock 2.3.4 or 2.3.6 installed .Flash it first 🙂
      2.)QWERTY is default keyboard so no need to flash csc
      3.)Rest all is same .

    anyone have glitchy graphic bugs with other GB stock rom than XWKPG & the bug come again after flash this build, it came from the kernel
    I will try make a new kernel, if my assumption is true
    so if you havethe glitchy graphicdevice, flash this build will help to know if the bugs still remain

      I fixed it in the new version .Need to clean the stuff .
      it’s not link2SD error .
      init.d is irresponsive for some reasons in some phones .

    Hey Man ,
    Thanks Very Much
    i installed this ROM on 2.3.4 original with no problem
    just flash with Odin as on package!
    everything is OK and i font see any problem until now
    “No-frills CPU Control” is awesome. i over-clock to 800 Mhz with default other option and run “Real Racing 2” with more less lag 😡

    if you can add Arabic (and Persian ) support to this rom , I pray you.

    Skilled, I think you should mention that display glitch is still at large with this rom. People might be mislead into thinking that this rom is glitch-free, given that it’s based on XEO-KPG.

    I’ve made ext2 partition ~700mb on sd card. Arkas 1.6 Patched working fine but internal memoryy is the same about 155mb + about 3GB on sd card.

    How to make working this ext2 partition? I thought that it will be like “internal memory is 855MB.

    I’m trying a2sd method. You’ve said copy 07a2sd to /init. I open it with text editor and it’s unreadable. Anyone help please?

    Hi, Ive tried this rom, and in my opinion it is very good, and one more time congratulations for your job.

    I think arkas 1.5 is fastest than this one, why is that? And im here to leave a suggestion, isnt it possible for you to make a rom without the samsung crap apps, and make it with better apps, what i mean is , instead of having the gallery put quick pick for example, instead of having the music, put a better player…

    Hope you understand this as a constructive reply not a desctructive one.

    Love your work! And thank you! Btw endomondo and cardiotrainer works in this rom!

      Make and replace transparent background .
      I dont think it would work though .
      I am too lazy to find the xml .
      change the value to wallpaper instead of _bg .It should do the trick .

    hey i use internet threading through usb. it used to work fine on skock rom but after i installed 1.5 and tried to thread it mounts the sd cark without selecting the option more over when i unmount it it gets mounted a again i think it has to do some thing with sd card partition.i have 1 gb of my 8 gb card for links 2 sd plz help………plz……….any one eles facing the same problem

    because froyo is more open source than gingerbread
    link2sd works perfect
    only few bugs
    hd games works more better on froyo than gingerbread
    ya i know performance a bit is slow
    but please continue making froyo roms

      3G work but sometimes the phone lose reception and you have to reboot the phone. Gps wont work at all.

        Change baseband to KPK if you havent already .If you live in South America ,GPS wont work

    how to change the appearance (framework) so it look like stock’s appearance?
    i dont like transparent thingy and icons in status bar.
    i have tried replaced framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk but those only replaced battery icon only.

        1. status bar is gone.
        2. nothing appeared when connected to USB
        i guess there’s many things that didnt appeared.

        well, i should edit the apk tho.

    I have Android 2.3.6 stock (Installed from I5510XWKPG_I5510XWKP1_I5510XEOKP5_HOME.tar using odin)
    I tried to install Arkas 1.6 by using ‘One package’ option in odin.
    But then my phone gets stuck at GT I5510 screen and never gets past.
    I have installed stock GB back and it works fine. However there are no Google apps 😦

    Am I doing something wrong or skipping something crucial during installing Arkas 1.6
    Note: I am from India(If that has to do something with Country). And apparently I am a noob.

        I installed GB from the file I mentioned (I5510XWKPG_I5510XWKP1_I5510XEOKP5_HOME.tar), but there is no market,gmail etc..

    Well, I erased cache and data through recovery and gapps came back.
    Then tried to install Arkas again. This time it worked 🙂
    I’m impressed by your Rom.

      you have to flash KP1 radio
      -cant give any guarantee ,its a custom ROM
      -yes you can overclock
      -691Mhz
      -Perseus X is the best .

        first i will flash arkas1690.tar then i have Topu flash kp1 for radio 3g wifi etc. But i know nothing about kp1. What is Kp1, How To flash it and can it harm the phone.
        İ know about odin and how To flash roms i used gany0.4 swash buckler. Arkas 1.2.1 but i never flashed kp1

    first i installed 2.3.6 netherlands stock rom (i think it got kp1 radio or?)

    then installed arkas 1.6

    worked but got 2 problems

    first: camera flicker– solved by changing cpu to 600 instead of 691

    gps wont workxxcouldnt fix it

    help plz

    did i lost it forever?

    flashing stock egypt froyo rom would get it working?

    any way to make it work on arkas?

      Only the latest XEO-KPG has the KP1 radio .
      check in about phone to confirm which radio you have

      good.That radio is KPK not KP1
      download the amss files .

    gps get a fix even faster than before
    now my 551 works perfect
    overclock,camera,no display bugs,gps,2.3.6,flash player,super fast rom didnt affect my phone radio..

    remains one problem

    my phone cant fly :((

    seriously—->i got small problem—>flash player on froyo worked perfect

    gingerbread flash player donot work so well..
    like yeah miniclip games work but when i visit youtube or any site with videos it doesnt work

    opera mobile and dolphin browser and stock browser

    AND CHANGE YOUR FAULTY USB CABLE!!! xD

      probably it’s gingerbread or the lib files of flash player are more compatible with froyo

    rom is awesome…

    juust after flashing a rom battery act wierd

    callibrating it for 2nd time now

    it shows 100 p.c 4 hours before phone show (battery full.unplug the charger)
    and yup searched the blog and done tips u mentioned 🙂

    [no doubt,many people love] and i also tried to port the framework and as you know my framework had many bug but now i am resizing every png to the resolution of our phone but what about .9 pngs.Resizing them is very complicated work [truly ,i didn’t understand the guide of editing 9 png]

      check what you have formated ext4 with it .
      I use gparted,mkfs.ext4 or CWM recovery and they work .

      If you have older gingerbread then you will need the KP1 amss or you will face wifi,gps and data errors

      The ROM is not flawed but GPS apps may have issues.
      Will it damage your phoene .Dont know …
      Custom ROMs come with Absoulte no warranty .It may damage or it wont damage is solely upto you

      No you need to change amss.phone
      if your gingerbread already has 800 band then any of my ROMs wont change it .
      If it gets stuck in Odin then you may damage phone .
