Brazilian Gingerbread Released !!!???!!!

Great news for Dudes from Brazil

A while ago I checked the sammobile website

They changed the firmware layout and added I5510T to the device list.

As you all know .I5510T is the Brazilian variant of  Galaxy 551 .

They have the latest firmware listed as

I5510TZTOKP6 and it is of 2012

I downloaded it and confirmed it as Gingerbread

Probably some guys from brazil should check if GPS and 3G works or not properly 🙂

      depends on where you live and what phone you have .This firmware release is for I5510T users only .

    I installed in I5510L and i have boot loop. But i install only amss, and gps and 3g work perfect.

      I dont have a i5510T so I never tested .It seems the amss atleast works fine 😀
      If you are using Perseus or CM then you will go in boot loop 😉 .

      Hola javier tu tienes el modelo 5510 o 5510L? Segun lo que he leido, usas una rom stock europea 2.3.6 y encima le montaste el amss que mas abajo colocaste el link correcto? exactamente cual Rom usaste?, Bien, tengo un grave (gravisimo) problema, mi phone se ha quedado en OFF completamente, murió, luego de que le instale una rom europea y por no funcionarle ninguno de los servicios de red intente regresarlo al 2.2 con una rom de argentina, esa fue la ultima vez que lo vi encendido, tiene idea de como solucionar esto y de porque ha podido suceder eso?

    I have I5510 and live in Brazil, gps and 3G don’t work using KP1. If to use I5510TZTOKP6 the gps and 3g will work?

      It should work since it should contain brazilian amss .But I cant confirm it .

      Lukakas, estou com o mesmo problema… Após esta atualização (que é a mesma do KIES), meu 3G não funciona mais, somente conecta em EDGE e o GPS também não funciona. Se souber de alguma correção me mande um e-mail por favor… tos.thiago@gmail.com.

    I’m from Brazil and I’m using this update
    with the other 2.3.6 gps not working
    fortunately now the phone is in perfect working
    and I installed the update by the KIES
    to my phone gt-i5510t this update is perfect

    I just had the upgrade to gingerbread done in my 5510T, and it works fine, as far as i tested it.
    I tarted usingt samsung Kies but had some kind of problem, so I used another program to install it.
    Now,i am trying to root it but it´s not working (not with z4root or Super One Click).

    Do anybody know how to root it?

      I installed 2.3.6 two on both 5510T and I got the root using the file from this tutorial.

    Installed 2 days ago. Is perfect. Its lightweight. GPS is faster than ever, including Avast anti theft is working nice (due to faster gps and not forceclosing anymore)

    The big problem is rooting. Tried to install root234.zips found here and phone reebots every time I try to make some copy to system (like replacing fault samsung media scanner to sony one, or moving some apps to system.

    Hey skilled chaos, any tips to pre-root this thing? Some guide you followed in the distant past? 😀 Maybe this is the key to solve this issue.

      Do one t hing after you have rooted

        Already tried, the first thing.

        I can mount system.rfs in my Ubuntu box sucessfully, can I add su and supersu manually and repacking?

        no you cant .
        rfs is mounted as vfat in ubuntu not as rfs .You will just mess your phone .
        I will create another zip in a day or so .
        maybe it will work //

        Reflashed original and I haven’t installed the root zips. ADB is rock solid now. Never thinked that rooting messes up adb behavior. Weird weird.

        Can I mount system.rfs directly on adb and modify from here?

        Maybe the problem is with busybox not su. Tried to run from adb shell some busybox commands and he tries to run, but exits with “Illegal operation”.

        Busybox Installer from market says that I dont have any busybox installed, and the app can’t install either.

        So I don’t have some basic busybox commands like cp, only system mount and mv (and cant move from /sdcard to /system/app, it says something about crosslink)

        do rm /system/xbin/busybox.
        and reinstall it

        Yeah busybox from jrummy doesn’t worked, but busybox from stericson worked (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox).

        Now I have my adb fully functional. I had modified karandpr root.zip changing superuser files to chainfire supersu. And reflashed everything from zero.

        Now lets try the things that made phone rebooting. Crossing fingers 😀

        Meu 3G e GPS ainda não funcionam… Eu instalei pelo KIES e já fiz tb pelo ODIN baixando a ROM do samsfiles. 😦

    FLAWLESS VICTORY!!!

    This rom GB Stock Brazil + rom Arkas 1.7 = Perfect.

    Now, all functions is working ok… GPS, 3G 100%.

    Javier pude ponerselo pero al encender todavia me sigue diciendo solo llamadas de emergencia al conectar al 3G y solo se conecta con 2G. Tengo el firmware 2.3.6 sin ninguna rom personalizada. Que puede ser?

      Hi, I’m from Argentina too, I have a GT-I5510L, and decided to flash the brazilian GT-I5510T ROM on top of it. Flashing went smoothly, it boots fine, but I can’t make 3G work. I’m using a Claro chip (Claro AR).
      The only way I can use my phone now is on 2G mode. Any clue why?
      Also, I tried using dial code *#2263# to change RF bands, but didn’t have any luck.
      Any ideas?

        Hey guys great news! I’ve tried the new Gingerbread ROM for Venezuela and works fine with my GT-5510L Claro AR. After some troubleshooting I finally made 3G work!!!

    guys, i am in venezuela. i have a GT-I5510L as well and i stil cant use 3G or GPS. I lost it since i flashed a european GB on it.

    as far as i can tell. the only thing it fixed was the keyboard layout.
    I can only use the phone on 2G only

    What i’ve read from samsung is that thr HSDPA bands for 3g are 850 / 2100 MHZ for GT-i5510T and I own GT-i5510L that works on 850 / 1900… And my mobile operator currently works on 1900 so I guess that I wont get 3g at my phone with this GB 😦

      I’m wondering if I can flash this Gingerbread on my GT-i5510L and then maybe flash only another AMSS from, example, a galaxy 5500 with GB that works with the appropiate baseband for my country, so I may get 3g and GPS to work… Do you guys have any idea about this?

    Please some one help me my phone got wet and is not starting.when i pull my battery and reconnect it it shows like charging (like when the phone is switched off and we connect charger) for just a second then black screen.I have my phone in warranty for just two days.And i have installed custom Rom of yours and if i took phone in this state they will get to know that phone is rooted but if i try to connect my phone to flash stock Asian froyo ROM the PC is not recognizing the phone.so tell me what to do as soon as possible.

      well dry the phone completely and give in to warranty .The first thing samsung care does is flash stock ROM so no problems there .
      Else you are on your own .

      Joder hablas español? tu tienes el 5510L? en algun momento te ha quedado muerto de bolas asi que ni enciende ni nada? Tienes idea de como solucionar eso o ya solo queda llevarlo a servicio tecnico?

    Ayer intente actualizarlo de 2.2 a 2.3.6 con una rom stock europea, pero como el servicio de red no funciono, decidi regresarlo a 2.2 con otra rom stock argentina, pues mi telefono murio, alguien sabe si tiene solucion eso? o debo olvidarme de el? he leido que tocaria flashearlo pero como hago eso?

    Calderon ,Sacale la Bateria por almenos 30 minutos luego ponlo en Modo Downloading ( Q+Power) e instala otra Rom , en mi caso use una Gingerbread Europea y fue la solución que me funcionó, esta Rom Brasilera no funciona en Venezuela

      Ok, no bueno al final lo lleve a Movistar y me lo cambiaron, pero ahora no se si volverlo a intentar con el nuevo, no sea que lo dañe otra vez, yo antes había usado una rom europea pero quedo sin servicio (ni 3g ni gsm ni edge ni nada) cual de las europeas usaste tu? Hiciste lo de montarle los amss encima? o lo usas sin 3g?…por fa dime si la rom la descargaste de samfirmware y cual de las versiones europeas usaste para tu modelo…thanks!

    Estoy casi como tu , tengo la I5510XWKPA_I5510XENKP1_XEN_3 y ando sin 3G, GPS y WIFI ,intenta usar Samsung Kies ya hay Gingerbread para este modelo en Venezuela desde la semana pasada, yo tengo que regresar a Froyo para poder instalarlo

      Ahh no sabía eso, eso si que es una gran noticia, probaré entonces, porque ya dañé el sistema y al final tuve que ir a Movistar y como solo tenía 3 días de comprado me lo reemplazaron por otro y ahora temo joderlo otra vez, pero bueno, hey mosca cuando lo vayas a regresar a froyo, eso fue lo que yo hice con mi anterior equipo y ahí fue cuando murió, pero si todo te funciona bien, escríbeme y coméntame….otra cosa mas, probaste instalando los “amss” encima de esa europea que tienes? cualquier cosa avísame por acá o por FBK: CalderonLadera o Gtalk: CalderonLadera, ahora mismo reviso lo de la actualización oficial, sería justicia!! Ya había comenzado a odiar los modelos que terminaran en “L”

    Hey, man. El problema al volver de GB a Froyo es que tienes que instalar una rom europea que tenga el bootloader de Froyo y luego la versión venezolana de Froyo para recuperar el 3G y el GPS. Por eso te quedaba en pantalla negra. Me paso lo mismo hace tiempo. Esta es la versión de Froyo con el bootloader: http://hotfile.com/

      Dejame ver si entendi, si instalo cualquier version europea, pierdo el 3g, eso ya ha quedado claro y si luego quiero volver a froyo, instalo primero este que me acabas de pasar y luego la version original de movistar vzla? es asi?

    I need help! I have this brazilian version!
    I5510TVJKP6 this is what it says in PDA/Phone and in csc says I5510TZTOKP6!
    I want to go back to froyo in movistar Venezuela but I don’t know where I can find this firmware or how to do it! I tried once and my phone went crazy! I thought it’d never turn on but it did and now I want the stock rom. please help me u_u

    How much does not having 3G and GPS affect the phone. Do a lot of services utilize the GPS? I ask because I have i5510M (Bell Canada) which I am doubting will get the update any time soon if ever 😦

      hmm :/ .GPS doesnt affect much since the GPS is pretty crappy according to me (I was heavily dependent on A-GPS which works on data ) .3G will affect your data services speed (EDGE is slow .. I think GT-i5510 is 4G ) .It all depends on bands used by Bell for 3G . Some radios have 3G and GPS functionality retained on their phones on GB by Brazil (a user reported his Claro phone had 3G working on European GB).
      You can take a Leap of faith and install GB if you wish . If yo use WIfi for internet then it wont even concern you much.
      If you heavily use Maps then it may be a hindrance .
